(as in, do you read this blog in something like Google Reader, Netvibes, or on the LiveJournal page?) Yes. My Internets use tube via Netvibes to bring me here. 3. How often do you visit Good Old Rock? How do you get here? (Twitter links, Facebook posts, bookmark, etc) The site? rarely. 4. How did you find Good Old Rock? I plead the 5th 5. What is your favorite “content type” here? For example: RSS Recommendations, Tech Tips, Web Wanderings, Photography, or “personal updates”? Why? Photography, and Matt Stuff 6. Likewise, what is your least favorite? Why? Tech Tips. Because I like to be difficult. Seriously, I know most of what you say. 7. Do you follow me on Twitter? Are we friends on Facebook? No.Yes. 8. 1. Regular
2. RSS through google reader
3. Couple of times a week, either through google reader, facebook, or your gchat status
4. gchat or facebook, I forget which one.
5. tech tips because they’re usually pretty handy or personal updates since those are pretty amusing/insightful.
6. Probably the twitter stuff, since I don’t really get that technology.
7. Twitter – no, just joined it though. Facebook – Yes.
8. Sadly this is the hardest question for me. Um, wasn’t there some kind with cheese on it with crumbly things? I think it’s that kind.
9. I don’t really poke around the site too much, but I generally am able to find what I’m looking for.
10. Look is good, feels a bit crowded with other stuff, but it’s pretty compartmentalized, so it doesn’t overwhelm the actual content. So, I’m generally happy.
11. There are ads? Well, I run adblock plus, so I don’t see anything.
12. I’m not much for commenting on blogs unless I have something to add or there is a request to do so. So, like this post, if you ask I’ll post.

That’s a good question. It goes back to when I wasn’t sure this was a tech blog…in fact, the Tech Tips came out a little organically from what was originally a personal blog. Anyway, it’s a reference to The Simpsons:

Lisa: Look, there’s only one way to settle this. Rock-paper-scissors.
Lisa’s brain: Poor predictable Bart. Always takes `rock’.
Bart’s brain: Good ol’ “rock”. Nuthin’ beats that!
Bart: Rock!

Larry, I’m the same way as you when it comes to searching a blog – which is mostly why I was asking…since I’m not a good judge of how easy it is to “find” content. So I don’t think your comment was rude at all :)

As far as excerpts vs. full posts…that’s almost like a Mac vs. PC question. I personally really don’t like having to “click through”…but I can see the value of being able to put more posts in front of eyeballs by not having the full post. I occasionally will do excerpts if it’s going to be a really long post…and I remember.

Thanks for the feedback! It’s valued. And I love the look and feel of your blog, especially the header. It’s hella cool.
