It does seem to be pretty popular. I think I even have an account somewhere… at least I remember my husband encouraging me to do that, and me sort of unenthusiastically agreeing. I’m not likely to be looking for a job any time soon, but my employers are always looking for good people, so I guess it wouldn’t hurt to be linked in, in case I run across someone I could recommend.

ahhh. not a bad idea, and sounds like it actually DOES work when it comes to the networking thing. of course, i just got this job and think i’m set for awhile, but you’re right — it’s probably a great tool in that respect.

well then, maybe soon you won’t be my only friend. :)

I’ve been updating mine today with all my soon-to-be ex co-workers. It seems like it’s used pretty extensively at my new place, though. In fact, that is how they initially found me. So I’m a LinkedIn success story, which is why I’ve been encouraging people I know to participate in it (and most importantly, to have their profile set up with resume-type information). That is, assuming said people are possibly interested in new opportunities.

Also, since I know I’m going to be hiring someone in the next month or two, I wanted to get my network going properly so I can leverage it for that use as well.
