Candice,

That SUCKS! Eventually, I got my money back, but it DID involve a dispute with PayPal and it took FOREVER. It sucks that this guy is still getting away with this crap.

My husband had an even worse experience with this guy. He ordered books that were never shipped. When they were finally shipped (seller told us it would take up to 30 days, probably so we would be left unable to leave the negative feedback he so richly deserves), they were shipped to the wrong address.

It's been over 2 months and still no books. Attempts to contact seller have been in vain. Ebay refuses to take action because we did not complain at the very beginning, but I don't see how we were supposed to when we were told it would take 30 days just to ship the item!

I agree that your tone sounds confrontational but this also sounds really annoying/unbelievable!

My latest EBay pet peeve are sellers who "won't leave feedback until you do." I bought an iPod battery and it was stolen from our building (along with a bunch of other small packages ordered by ourselves and other tenants). I wrote to the seller explaining the situation and she wrote "Sorry. No feedback unless you leave feedback." Well, I had nothing to leave feedback FOR - it was STOLEN, not the seller's fault, but I'd paid promptly so I deserved good feedback. I left her neutral feedback because I was pissed (I've only left bad feedback once). She didn't bother to contest it.

Yeah, this kind a stuff happens every once in awhile, but with almost 150 transactions I've only had one item not ship at all. Multiple (polite) requests about when it was going to ship were completely ignored. Instead of getting angry (on the outside) I just opened a dispute with Paypal. Paypal then tries to get the seller to smarten up. In my case, they didn't, so I escalated through Paypal again to make it a claim. I will let Paypal/eBay take the appropriate actions and I should get a full refund.

I have not yet left negative feedback for above buyer - that's tricky because if you're the first to blink, the other person can "get revenge" so to speak. There are now 5 extra ratings for buyers to give to their sellers (I think they remain anonymous but give prospective buyers overall metrics) - that might be a better vehicle for your frustration. I see a lot of "Positive" feedbacks that say terse things like "Item arrived" - which basically means they weren't impressed - or even leaving negative feedback within a positive rating.

I have to tell you that by ebay standards, your correspondence seems rather confrontational - which doesn't help your case if you want your transaction expedited. If the seller has a huge rating (in the thousands), one negative feedback isn't going to hurt him/her too much, but it will really show up on a casual ebayer's rating unfortunately.
