Competition for Science Nina Team?

Dude, Dallas was into physics and hiphop BEFORE it went pop.

Dang I can’t access this at work but I take it’s not about Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (科学忍者隊ガッチャマン, Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman?), a 5-member superhero team which comprises the main characters in several anime originally produced in Japan by Tatsunoko Productions and later adapted into several English-language versions. It is also known by the abbreviated name Gatchaman. The original series, produced in 1972, was eponymously named Kagaku ninja tai Gatchaman and is most well-known to the English-speaking world as the adaptation titled Battle of the Planets (or G-Force, not to be confused with the 80′s English adaptation of Gatchaman, known as G-Force: Guardians of Space).

No, it’s not. It’s a video rap about physics. Science Ninja Team that I refer to was/is a rap group from U of Illinois that raps about science and geek related things. Or at least I think that’s what they do. My sister’s boyfriend knows better than I do.

That’s fairly accurate. We try to reference things that people might know, but probably shouldn’t. For example, I have a new verse that references Nick Burns from the SNL skit where Jimmy Fallon plays an IT guy.

And I don’t think we’ve officially hit the ‘nerdcore’ label that the above video would fall under. We somewhat accept the title, but are reluctant to accept it based on its separation from the general label of ‘hip hop.’

    Thanks for the shout out!
